Oct.15th

We had an appointment with a neurosurgeon today to discuss Logan's CT scan. He still has a significant amount of fluid in the left ventricle. Apparently , the shunt isn't draining that side, so the surgeon wants to replace the shunt he got in Lake Charles with a new one.  He would like to do the procedure asap, so we are waiting for him to check his schedule and get back with us.  Another surgery isn't something we wanted to hear, but the fluid has to be drained to optimize Logan's chances of recovering whatever function that he might be able to. He did get a therapy session in today before we left for the appointment and he managed to keep all of his food down all day. Hopefully, he'll get a full day in tomorrow.

I hope the procedure goes well and quick with no complications. Getting that fluid drained surely will make him feel better and may help with the nausea. Tell Logan we love him and keep up the hard work!

just wanted you to know, i don't have a "wake up log" bracelet anymore; one of the kids friends wanted theirs and they gave it to them, so i gave them mine. a few days ago, i found an old bracelet that we got from a police officer in monroe when we evacuated from hurricane rita. it says "heroes live forever" and i'm wearing it in honor of you, cuz you're our hero. keep up the good work and keep getting better!
