Logans condition

Although he is breathing on his own Logan is still in a coma and unresponsive. He is still scheduled to undergo a procedure on the 24th to put a shunt in which will help drain the excess fluid in his head. We encourage everyone to keep up with their prayers and comments as they have been so important in helping us make it through this situation. We are deeply saddened by the fact that Logans case is being tried in the newspaper and that it seems like one man is trying to undermine the hard work of the police department and district attorney. We continue to thank everyone for their support and pray for Logans recovery.

I thought I would share a little additional information about the attorney that is representing Jake Tullos. His attorney is Glen Vamvoras. Well, Glen Vamvoras also represents 2 of Judge Carter's sons in criminal matters! Do you see the conflict of interest, as I do? This angers me that this is happening. I pray that justice will prevail. I continue to keep Logan in my prayers and for everyone else in his family. I am so sorry that all of this is happening to such great people! But, I have faith.

the justice system is definitely all wrong here, but as long as we keep praying everything will be ok. Logan will wake up and then justice will be served.

I found this Healing Novena and thought I would share it.  Please pray this novena on Logan's complete healing.

Healing Novena

To Christ the Great Physician
We know that there is one physician:
Both flesh and spirit
uncreated, yet born
God in man
True life in death
From both Mary and From God
Subject to suffering and then impassible
Jesus Christ our Lord!

We ask O Great Physician, for spiritual, physical, and emotional healing, especially my intention of Logan.
You of both flesh and spirit

May we spend all of our days in your healing presence
You the eternal Son born for us

Grant us the healing benefits of your Incarnation, Death, and Resurrection
You who are true God and true man

Grant us your true life in the midst of death
You, the true life in death

Grant us to follow your example and that of your Blessed Mother
You, from both Mary and from God

May our suffering be for our growth; free us, we pray, from that which we cannot bear
We ask You, O God the Word who became man to suffer

We ask you to grant us this healing if it brings us closer to you,
Jesus Christ our Lord!

To Logan's family - I have never met Logan, but found out about the tragedy through a friend of his.  It appalls me what's going on in his case, and all I can do is keep praying for your family and Logan, that peace will come to you and healing graces will fall upon Logan's body.  Have faith - God has blessed us with incredible earthly bodies which are capable of pulling through unimaginable trauma, and God is watching over you guys! You have people praying for you all over the state of Louisiana and beyond!  Look at all the progress Logan has made as God's promise that he will be better. God bless

Everyday I see our justice and government systems fail us, as we are seeing in Logan's case.  I agree with Karah that there is a big conflict of intrest in this situation.  Hopefully though justice will be brought to the guys that did this.

Thankfully God will never fail us as our systems created by men do.

Our prayers have been and will continue to be with Logan, his family, and his friends.

I forgot to tell you the other day - My mom had a whole bus of nun's praying for Logan...on a bus trip to San Francisco!  She also lit every candle she could find in every church they stoped at along the way!  Prayers are coming in from all directions!  Nothing is impossible with God!  He is the Great Physician and will heal Logan when the time is right.

I don't know Logan but anyone who risk their lives every morning is a hero to me. It's sad that he was doing his job and he got attack. It sickens me to my stomach of how people hurt innocent hard working people for their own selfish reasons. I will pray for Logan and that our Father in heaven continues to watch over him and bring him out of the situation he's in now. Our father will not give us more than we can handle, Logan I wish the best for you and your family, and for the rest of the world to have peace.

Here's an e-mail Jared and I got that I think is appropriate to share with everyone:

Guys,
Just wanted to let you know that we (Horseshoe Drive UMC) is praying for Logan and his recovery…
Please pass on to his parents and family that many, many are in prayer for him…

When I was in seminary, my clinical work was done in the neurointensive care floor of a major Atlanta Hospital …  I saw many, amazing things during my time there.  The brain is a wonderfully recuperative organ… it has a way of shutting down for it’s own healing…  Also, when in Atlanta , I became (too) familiar with a place call Shepherd’s Spinal Center …SSC is one of the leading centers in this country in dealing with brain trauma…  One of our Lake Charles District pastor’s daughter, Katie Crews, had a horrible auto accident in June 08…her injury was a brain trauma and she was in a coma for a long time…but, she did wake up and has made remarkable recovery from her injury…you may want to pass this information on along to the family, as well…

Keep the faith…Keep doing the right thing…remember that there are ways that you can impact and be a part of Logan’s healing but, you cannot change the circumstances…

Peace,
Rev. Tracy L. MacKenzie

I have heard endless stories from being in PT school and in my internships about brain injury patients who the Dr's gave no chance and they made remarkable recoveries. The brain is an amazing organ and is capable of doing things that even the best Dr's cannot predict. To logans family and friends never give up hope no matter what the Dr's say sometimes these things just take time. i miss you log and i am sorry that we lost touch when i went to florida for school but it was good to see you at my graduation party and i look forward to seeing you again
